Scrubbish – Our selfmade sustainable soap

Great days start with great coffee and, with up to 1500 breakfast guests per day and over 100 staff members, as you can imagine, we serve a lot of coffee! Instead of treating all the accumulated coffee grounds as mere waste, we have found a sustainable solution: Scrubbish - our handmade coffee soap bars, crafted at Hotel Berlin, Berlin.

From Bean to Bar: Crafting Scrubbish Sustainably

Each Scrubbish soap bar tells a story of circularity, of cooperation, and a step towards a more sustainable future. Scrubbish is handcrafted in small batches by our kitchen staff using upcycled coffee grounds and a palm-oil-free base emulsion.  Once a batch is ready, our sales team take over, individually packaging each bar using cardboard wrapping made of recycled paper, which can, in turn, be recycled.

Scrubbish impresses not only with its sustainability but also with its outstanding benefits for the skin. The coffee grounds provide a gentle exfoliation, removing dead skin cells, while the caffeine content stimulates blood circulation. Additionally, coffee is rich in antioxidants, providing anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Thanks to its neutral pH, coffee grounds are suitable for all skin types, whether normal, dry, oily, or combination skin.

Simple, wholesome and 100% vegan, Scrubbish leaves skin feeling fresh and consciences at ease.
