I’m Tom, and I’ll be your host at Hotel Berlin, Berlin. I am a distiller by profession and owner of Mampe, Berlin’s oldest spirits brand. I have been living in Berlin since 2010, and I fell in love with my favourite place, the Bergmannkiez neighbourhood in Kreuzberg, from the very first moment.
And now, I am incredibly proud and happy that we have found here the site for Mampes Neue Heimat, which is located in a former beer brewery. Here you can watch us distilling, visit our distillery or buy our products. Visit www.mampe.berlin for more information!

But that’s not the only thing that makes this neighbourhood so attractive. The restaurants and cafés in Bergmannstrasse are a true paradise for breakfast – for me, it’s the perfect start to the day. When the weather is nice
I like to lie on the grass in Viktoriapark, with its artificial waterfall on Kreuzberg hill. And when I get hungry towards evening, then I head to the centre of the Berlin fast food scene, the nearby Mehringdamm street.
Here, at number 32, two long queues meet each other around the clock. In one direction, people wait for sausages at Curry36, while the other queue is for Mustafa’s famous vegetable kebab.
